Cook the pasta as per the package instructions. Once cooked drain and place back in the pan with 5 tbsp of the water. This will avoid the pasta sticking.
In a large pan add the oil, heat on a lower temperature, add the onion and sauté for 5 minutes until soft. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute. Then add the celery, carrot, tomato paste, tomatoes, salt and pepper. Simmer over a low heat for 15 minutes then add the basil and cook for a further 5 minutes. Check the seasoning and serve.
